Raymond J. Biltz

Raymond Joseph Biltz, 80, passed away August 29, 2021. He was born July 7, 1941 to the late Raymond and Rose (Widman) Biltz in Elwood Indiana.

Ray was a graduate of Cathedral High School and the University of Dayton, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in business. His career as a Purchasing Manager started in 1968 at Indiana Bell, where he was employed for 25 years. Later, he went to work as a buyer for ATA, Rolls Royce, and the Town of Fishers. After retiring, Ray worked part-time in a warehouse for MD Logistics. He was a 43-year member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church, where he was a coach, Men's Club member, usher, and Extraordinary Minister of the Holy Communion. He was a long-time member of the Purchasing Managers Association and Knights of Columbus.

Ray was also a veteran, having served his country in the Army National Guard. He loved tailgating with his friends, participating in 5k walks, and always supported his grandkids by attending their sporting and academic events. He was a huge fan of the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Hoosiers. He was a devoted Catholic, loving, father, grandfather, husband, and friend with faith and family being the focus of his life.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Anita Biltz (Schaefer), whom he married at Sacred Heart Church May 7th, 1966, daughters, Shelly Mayse (David), Sherry Sullivan (Shawn), and son Jeff Biltz (Leslie). Grandchildren; Noah Mayse (Emma), Savanna and Shane Sullivan, Jonah and Joshua Mayse, Allyson and Andrew Biltz.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, St. Barnabas Catholic Church or Roncalli High School. Visitation will be held Friday, September 3, 2021 from 4-8 pm at O’Riley Funeral Home - 6107 S. East St. Indianapolis, IN 46227. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, September 4, 2021-1:00 pm. at St. Barnabas Catholic Church - 8300 Rahke Rd. Indianapolis, IN. All are welcome to join the family for a meal immediately following Mass in McNally Hall at St. Barnabas.
