Pietro Ferri, 87, Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016. He was born in Rome, Italy on March 5, 1929 to Tommaso and Palmira Barletta Ferri. Mr. Ferri worked for Wm. H. Block Department Store as a salesman in the men's clothing department for over 25 years before retiring. In 1969 he cofounded the Junior Soccer League of Indianapolis and was active in the Lion's Club of Indianapolis. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and the Italian Heritage Society of Indiana. Mr. Ferri was preceded in death by his wife, Silvana Ferri. He is survived by his children, Thomas Ferri (Lisa) and Laura Huckaby (Eric); brother, Franco Ferri; grandchildren, Jacqueline Ferri, Nicholas Ferri, Gina Huckaby. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 10 a.m. in St. Jude Catholic Church. Visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home where morning prayers will be said on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. prior to Mass. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Italian Heritage Society of Indiana Scholarship Fund. Online condolences may be shared with the family at orileyfuneralhome.com.
