David T. Gaughan

November 19, 1931 — March 28, 2021

David T. Gaughan 89, of Indianapolis, passed away March 28, 2021. He was born in Indianapolis to the late Edward and Rose Gaughan.

David was a proud graduate of Cathedral High School, and attended Butler University. He served his country during the Korean War as a member of the US Air Force, and was a longtime member of St. Jude Catholic Church.

David was an Envelope salesman for the majority of his life, and in later years was a Bailiff for the Marion County Probate Court.

He always had a great sense of humor, and was devoted to his wife Jeannie and his family. David always loved a good pun and was known as Uncle Bubblehead to his nieces and nephews. He was avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts and would spend two weeks of pre-season telling everyone why this was their year-and the last few weeks of the season explaining why it didn’t work out. He had a passion for crossword puzzles and always worked them in pen.

David was preceded in death by his wife Jean of 50 years in 2010 and brother Kevin Gaughan. He is survived by his children Tim Gaughan( Mary Kay), Mary Gaughan (Cathie Fritz), Vince Gaughan, and Alice Miller (Mark); 12 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren; and brothers Edward Gaughan, Dennis Gaughan, and Tony Gaughan.
