Anthony "Tony" Dennis

November 5, 1980 — October 29, 2021

Anthony “Tony” Clark Dennis, 40, of Indianapolis died October 29 surrounded by his loving family after a long and tenacious battle with Huntington’s disease. He will be remembered with his wide grin, his “never quit” attitude and his generous spirit.

Tony was a natural athlete who loved playing football and basketball for St. Barnabas School CYO and then channeled his talents into a passion for boxing after his brother’s tragic death in 1996. Inspired by his brother, when Tony was just 17 years old, he went on to be Indiana Golden Gloves State Champion in 1998. He was also an Indiana State Boxing Champion in the Super MiddleWeight Division and holds the Championship belt. One of Tony’s proud fights was to be able to represent the United States in Denmark at the 2004 IBF Youth Boxing Championship.

Tony was a lifelong member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church. He enjoyed years of camping, amusement parks, traveling, watching movies, his mother’s homemade cooking, pizza and later his favorite take out was always White Castle sliders... with cheese.

Tony was preceded in death by his father Delbert O. Dennis II, brother Danny Dennis; grandparents Norman and Margaret Clark and Delbert O. Dennis and Mary E. (Betty) Dennis. He is survived by his son Isaac Dennis (New Albany), mother Susie (Clark) Dennis, sister Marisol Dennis and many Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
