Obituary for LaDonna Mills

LaDonna Mills, 84, of Greenwood, passed away at Franciscan St. Francis Health in Indianapolis on Sunday, October 29, 2017. Donna was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on November 5, 1932 to Oscar and Arva Wise. On October 13, 1955 she was united in marriage to Walter Harrison Baker. She moved to Overland Park, Kansas where she worked for Print O Press in Kansas City, Missouri for four years and then for AFCO Credit Corporation in Overland Park, Kansas for 38 years; she retired in December 1998.

After retiring Donna worked part time for UPAC and again for AFCO. She volunteered for Hospice for Douglas County Senior Citizens Center in Lawrence, Kansas and for Shawnee Mission Hospital in Overland Park. She moved back to Indiana in April 2007 to be near her brothers and sisters. She also volunteered at the St. Francis Hospital Impact Center in Mooresville, Indiana.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three sisters, Dolores Hatch, Juanita Loomis, and Karen Guthrie.

Survivors include her daughter, Anita Louise Gillette; two granddaughters, Renee Blankinship and Christal Gillette; five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild on the way; and her brother, Ronald Lee Wise of Greenwood, Indiana.

There will be no funeral or memorial services, as it is her wish to be remembered not in death, but in life and any memorial should be kept within your hearts.
