Obituary for John Charles Kerrigan

John Charles Kerrigan, 81, Fauquier, Virginia, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away April 26, 2017. Mr. Kerrigan was born February 27, 1936, to the late Patrick and Esther (O’Neil) Kerrigan.

He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Kerrigan worked as a self-employed roofer for many years. A devout Catholic, he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed sailing and was always happy on the water. Above all, he was a loving husband and devoted father.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jane (Gorman) Kerrigan.

Survivors include his children, Ann, Jane, Therese, Kathleen, Mike, and Jim; siblings, Alice, Patrick, and Pete; 29 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, May 1, 2017, in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East St. (US Hwy 31 S.), where morning prayers will be said on Tuesday, May 2, 2017. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 2, 2017, in St. Mark Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
